2021 Annual report
The New Jersey EMS Task Force was formed in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist
attacks and represents more than 200 career and volunteer EMS providers throughout the state.
The NJEMSTF membership is trained to respond to large-scale man-made and natural disasters,
catastrophes and pre-planned events. In the weeks and months after 9/11, EMS leaders from
around New Jersey gathered to develop a plan for an organization to train for and coordinate a
statewide EMS response to a disaster of any kind. Today, the NJ EMS Task Force is a nationally
recognized leader that represents top-line EMS providers from career and volunteer services,
hospital-based advanced life support providers and communications teams.
The NJEMSTF is organized into a 501c3 non-profit under the leadership of a Board of Directors
that oversees the organization’s roles and responsibilities. The NJEMSTF operates on funding
from grants, donations and the New Jersey Department of Health.

- TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS OF SERVICE – 20,000+ HOURS
- TOTAL NUMBER OF RESPONSES – 444, including daily COVID vaccine activities
- NJ Patients impacted by EMS TF Initiatives – 200+ from nursing home evacuations
- NJ Residents impacted by EMS TF Initiatives – 500,000+ residents
- NJ Counties impacted by EMS TF Initiatives – Everyone in all 21 new jersey counties

2020 Annual report
The New Jersey EMS Task Force is a statewide organization of topline EMS providers from career and volunteer services, hospital-based advance life support operations, and communications teams, who respond to large-scale man-made disasters, natural catastrophes, and provides support for pre-planned events. The NJEMSTF was formed in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Recognizing a mission-critical need, EMS leaders from around New Jersey gathered to develop a plan for an organization to train for and coordinate a statewide EMS response to a disaster of any kind. Today, the NJEMSTF represents more than 250 EMS providers throughout the state, and has equipment, vehicles and medical assets strategically placed for rapid deployment to any emergency. The NJEMSTF has served as the model for similar organizations around the country.
