Medical Operations
|
The NJ EMS Task Force Medical Module is a specialized unit designed to provide rapid, scalable medical support during large-scale emergencies, disasters, and major public events. Staffed by highly trained EMS professionals from across the state, this module can deploy a wide range of medical assets—including treatment tents, mobile field hospitals, and mass casualty equipment—to support overwhelmed healthcare systems, triage and stabilize patients in austere environments, and maintain continuity of care during complex incidents.
A unique and critical capability of this module is its Hazardous Materials Tactical (HazTac) function. These specialized teams are trained to deliver medical care within hazardous environments, working alongside decontamination operations to ensure patient stabilization and responder safety. Whether it’s a chemical spill, radiological exposure, or biological contamination, the Medical Module brings advanced coordination and lifesaving treatment to the frontlines. This dual-role capacity strengthens New Jersey’s readiness for all-hazards incidents and integrates seamlessly with regional and national response partners. The Medical Module is not only a key pillar in statewide preparedness—it’s a symbol of our commitment to protecting the health and safety of New Jersey residents. |
